Affiliate Disclosure

Welcome to the Bursar’s Office! It’s our job to handle the university’s finances and keep the lights on. Running a top-tier institution like Otakuversity, fueled by endless research, analysis, and frankly, an unhealthy amount of coffee, takes resources. To help support our mission, we sometimes participate in affiliate marketing. This page is our commitment to being radically transparent about how that works.

1. What is an Affiliate Link?

Otakuversity may engage in affiliate marketing, which is done by embedding tracking links into the website. If you click on a link for an affiliate partnership, a cookie will be placed on your browser to track any sales for purposes of commissions. We may earn a small commission from qualifying purchases made through these links.

Think of us as your cool T.A. who recommends the best textbook to ace the final. Sometimes, when we mention a product; like a manga volume, a book on psychology, or a Blu-ray of an anime we’ve just analyzed, we’ll use a special kind of link. If you click that link and decide to buy the item, the seller sends us a small commission (a few cents on the dollar, usually) as a “thank you” for the recommendation.

This costs you absolutely nothing extra. The price is the same for you whether you use our link or not. It’s simply a way for you to support our work without any extra cost on your end.

2. Our Commitment

Our primary mission is to provide the best, most insightful analysis at the intersection of anime and psychology. That will always come first.

We will only link to products and resources that we genuinely believe in, have used ourselves, or feel are relevant and valuable to your studies here at Otakuversity. We’re not here to sell you stuff you don’t need. Our authority comes from the quality of our insights, and we would never compromise that trust for a few extra cents.

When you see an affiliate link, know that it’s for a resource that we think could legitimately enhance your understanding or enjoyment of a topic.

3. Your Support Matters

Every time you use one of our affiliate links, you’re helping to fund the next anime diagnosis. You’re supporting and allowing us to keep the Otakuversity campus open and free for everyone. It’s a small, simple way to contribute to our community, and we are incredibly grateful for your support.

If you have any questions about this, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
